The Balochistan Health Card Program has unveiled significant details, and it's a game-changer in the province's healthcare landscape. Under this initiative, an allocation of 10 lakh rupees per family per year has been set aside to offer free treatment. This program focuses on providing treatment facilities to inpatients admitted to hospitals, with a key note that it won't apply to Outpatient Departments (OPDs).
As per Asadullah Kakar, the Chief Executive Officer of the Balochistan Health Card Program, the provincial government will commence providing free treatment of up to 10 lakh rupees annually to over 20 lakh families beginning next month. The health card is a significant part of this initiative, serving as an ID card that allows people to access free treatment at more than 1200 hospitals across the country, including 17 in Quetta.
Notably, there are dedicated information desks established in over 1200 hospitals, ensuring swift admission and the provision of patient data within six minutes, streamlining the treatment process. Additionally, residents are encouraged to obtain ID cards and B-forms for their children to avail of these facilities. For those yet to secure their ID cards and B-forms, prompt action is recommended to benefit from this program.
The initial phase of this program is set to span three years and is backed by an annual investment of 6 billion rupees from the Balochistan government. Furthermore, State Life Corporation will receive 3 thousand rupees per family, proportionate to the province's population. Under the health card, facilities encompass treatment, medications, and necessary tests for admitted patients. In cases where external tests or the procurement of medicines is required, the respective hospitals will shoulder this responsibility.
In line with modern communication channels, residents can reach out for information by sending a message to 8500 or by using a dedicated mobile app for the health card, which is readily available for download.
The preparations for the health card's issuance have been completed following the directives of Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Ali Mardan Khan Domki. The registration process for the health card has already commenced in Balochistan, with health card booths set up in various hospitals, including Sinar Hospital, Sheikh Zayed Hospital, Akram Hospital, and Sajid Hospital in Quetta. The identity card of Balochistan residents doubles as their health card, and registration is made simple with a straightforward SMS to 8500.

بلوچستان ہیلتھ کارڈ پروگرام کے چیف ایگزیکٹو آفیسر، اسد اللہ ککڑ کے مطابق، وزیراعلی بلوچستان کی حکومت اگلے مہینے سے صوبے کے 20 لاکھ سے زیادہ خاندانوں کو سالانہ 10 لاکھ روپے تک کی مفت علاج فراہم کرنے کا آغاز کر رہی ہے۔ ہیلتھ کارڈ کی سہولت اندرونی مریضوں کے علاج کے لئے ہے، عوام کی سہولت کیلئے آئی ڈی کارڈ ہیلتھ کارڈ ہوگا، جو لوگوں کو ملک بھر میں 17 کوئٹہ سمیت کئے گئے 1200 سے زیادہ ہسپتال میں مفت علاج حاصل کرنے کی اجازت دیگا۔
خصوصی توجہ دیں کی جاتی ہیں کہ 1200 سے زیادہ ہسپتالوں میں ویژٹیڈ انفارمیشن ڈیسکس قائم کی گئی ہیں، جہاں داخلے کے بعد 6 منٹ کے اندر تمام مریضوں کی معلومات فراہم کی جائیں گی، اور فوری علاج ممکن ہوگا۔ انفارمیشن ڈیسکس کی مدد سے کارڈس اور بی-فارمز بچوں کے لئے تیار کیے جائیں گے، تاکہ ان کو سہولت فراہم کی جاسکے۔ جو لوگ اب تک اپنے آئی ڈی کارڈ اور بی-فارمز تیار نہیں کرائے ہیں، وہ جلدی سے کارروائی کریں تاکہ وہ بھی ان سہولتوں کا استفادہ حاصل کر سکیں۔
اس پروگرام کی ابتدائی مرحلہ تین سال تک جاری رہے گا، جس کی منصوبہ بندی کے لئے بلوچستان حکومت ہر سال 6 ارب روپے خرچ کرے گی، جبکہ صوبے کی آبادی کی تناسب کے مطابق ہر خاندان کو 3000 روپے فراہم کیے جائیں گے۔ ہیلتھ کارڈ کے تحت مریضوں کے علاج، دوائیں، اور ضروری ٹیسٹس فراہم کیے جائیں گے۔ اگر کسی طرح کے ٹیسٹ کی ضرورت ہوتی ہے جو باہر سے یا دوائیوں کی فراہمی کی طلب ہوتی ہے، تو اس ذمہ داری کو بھی متعلقہ ہسپتال پر ہوتی ہے۔
